PICTURE – Seminar and Exhibition

Welcome to the registration platform for the event PICTURE – Seminar and Exhibition, an opportunity to immerse yourself in the history of photography in rural Europe during the 19th century.

Join us from the 13th to the 15th of November to take part in this research seminar dedicated to 19th-century rural European photography online or onsite on the Saint-Germain and Grands Moulins campuses at Université Paris Cité.

There are 9 questions in this survey.

As part of the organization of the event, the organiser (Circle U. team at the International Relations Office of Université Paris Cité) processes personal data.

The processing is necessary to satisfy the legitimate interest pursued by the data controller (Article 6 (1) f of the GDPR). The data processed includes information identifying registered participants and jury members (name, first name, email address, image rights authorization form if applicable, jury members' credentials, university affiliation, academic program, and faculty for participating students, and staff in charge of processing within the department).

The organizer is the sole recipient of the data processed. The data will be stored in the active database until the end of the academic year and will be deleted after the expiration of the appeal period.

Individuals whose data is processed have the right to access and obtain a copy of their data, object to the processing, have their data corrected, or have it erased. They also have the right to restrict the processing of their data.

To exercise these rights or for any questions regarding data processing, they may contact the organizer at the following address: circleu.iro@u-paris.fr.

In case of difficulties, they can contact the Data Protection Officer of Université Paris Cité at dpo@u-paris.fr.

If they believe their data rights are not being respected, they may file a complaint with the CNIL (www.cnil.fr).

ARTICLE 6: COPYRIGHT PROTECTION

Each participant certifies that they hold all rights, without limitation, related to the dissemination and reproduction of their photograph and guarantees the organizer against any claims, actions, or demands that may arise from third parties, including architects who might claim protection of their work under copyright law (Articles L. 112-2, 7°, and L. 123-1 to L. 123-12 of the French Intellectual Property Code).

Participants grant the organizer of the competition, free of charge, all economic rights they hold over their photograph for the period from the opening date of the competition to June 1, 2026, specifically to enable the exhibition of the photograph during the year 2026.
