Mobility survey - Students

Why this survey?

The Paris Cité University is measuring its carbon footprint for the first time, meaning the amount of green house gases generated by all of its activities (referred to as a « Greenhouse Gas Emissions Assessment », GHG)

Every day, tens of thousands of students travel to their place of study. Taken together, these journeys are part of the university’s carbon footprint and you are the only person who knows how you travel.

Whether you come on foot, by bike, by metro, by RER, by bus or by car, your response matters just as much as everyone else’s: we want to know how students travel and how each mode of transport contributes to the university’s carbon footprint.

By telling us how frequently you use each mode of transport, you help us produce a more accurate assessment of the university’s carbon footprint. Every journey you report contributes to this assessment — a key step in supporting your university’s ecological transition.

The questionnaire is open to all students, regardless of their level of study or enrollment status. It takes approximately 5 minutes to complete and is completely anonymous. Simply describe your travel habits during a typical week of classes; we’ll take care of the calculations.

Contractual PhD students: please do not complete this questionnaire. Instead, please use the questionnaire intended for university staff.

Personal Data Protection

Your responses are anonymous: no name, precise address, or personal identifier is collected. The only location information requested is the postcode of your municipality of residence, used solely to calculate average travel distances.

The data is processed in aggregate by the Sustainable Development & CSR Office of Université Paris Cité, exclusively for the purpose of preparing the Greenhouse Gas Emissions Assessment (BEGES) and the future mobility plan. The data will be retained for the duration of the project.

In accordance with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), you may exercise your data protection rights by contacting the university’s Data Protection Officer at dpo@u-paris.fr.
